Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the functional and radiological results in the treatment of fractures of the proximal humerus in elderly patients with a percutaneous Rush nail.
CONCLUSIONS: Percutaneous surgery with Rush nails is preferable to avoid specific disadvantages over non-surgical treatment that include shoulder stiffness and lack of union or open intervention. It is a useful method in the treatment of this fractures. It offers a rapid recovery, short operating time, lower complication rates and positive results
RESULT: We analyzed the results in percutaneous surgical treatment of proximal humerus fractures in elderly patients with the use of a Rush nail at the Alcivar Hospital corresponding to the period between January 2016 and May 2019.
