BERMELLECTOMY IN ACTINIC CHEILITIS, A CASE REPORT
Main Article Content
Abstract
Actinic cheilitis is an inflammatory pathology that most often affects the vermilion of the lower lip. It is considered as a premalignant lesion since there are cases that evolve into a squamous cell carcinoma.
We expose the detailed surgical approach of bermellectomy in a 65-year-old male patient with multiple vesicles, exulceration and hyperpigmented macules with irregular borders, poorly defined in vermilion, observing labial elastosis with edematous appearance and rough sensation to the touch. It is clinically diagnosed as actinic cheilitis and bermellectomy / bermellectoplasty is performed as a treatment. The defect is repaired, with the skin adjacent to the lesion without complications, with a satisfactory aesthetic result.
