Main Article Content
Abstract
Intestinal pneumatosis is described as the presence of gas inside the intestinal wall.
It is an extremely rare clinical situation that has been characteristically associated with bowel ischemia and with high mortality, although it may be benign. We present the case of a 3-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, who presented abdominal pain on day 16 of induction chemotherapy, being diagnosed by echo and CT with intestinal pneumatosis without enterocolitis, with complete resolution of the symptoms on the 6th day of treatment.
