Abstract

Splenic aneurysms are rare entities, the most common of which is that of the splenic artery, defined as an abnormal dilation more significant than 1 cm in diameter. 90% of cases are asymptomatic; it is a pathology with a not clearly defined etiology, mainly related to high portal flow where the most feared complication would be rupture that occurs with a frequency of between 2-10%, presenting with an abdomen. acute and shock that can have a mortality of 30%. A clinical case is presented at the Medical Conferences of the Alcívar Hospital.
