Abstract

Introduction: During the pediatric age, injuries that occur in the upper limb are frequent, however there are cases in which combined injuries occur that affect several structures, being unconventional, which can affect not only bone structures, but also vascular and nervous structures. Surgical treatment varies according to the different techniques depending on which one is required to be used.
Methods: Four cases of floating elbow with radiological evaluation are evaluated. Three of the cases in which the injury was resolved first in the elbow and later in the forearm and one case of dislocation-fracture. The evaluations included radiographic analysis, no postoperative complications were confirmed in the follow-ups.
Results: 4 cases of floating elbow were described, with the techniques used, which were performed without complications until the last follow-up and evidencing the restoration of movements in the affected limb of each of the children.
Conclusion: The treatment used in our study with the percutaneous approach in bone lesions is clearly effective where the functionality of the extremity is normal later, differentiating it from the other approaches studied where conservative treatment is not the most indicated since they undergo complications. associates.
